NHS Dental Treatments Dentist Lanarkshire

Here at the toothdoctor we offer a full range of NHS dental services, including sedation, and are currently accepting new patients onto our dental lists.

Our NHS dentistry is provided by Dr Nadia Ahmed and Dr Mark Bradley and patients are free to choose which dentist they wish to be registered with.

NHS dentistry is provided in conjunction with South Lanarkshire Health Board and is available to any UK resident. The NHS will pay 20% of patient fees with a maximum charge to the patient of £384 , some patients may be eligible for a full or partial exemption from charges. There are specific rules that must be complied with when providing NHS dental treatment, some of which are:

Cosmetic treatments like tooth whitening, dental implants and white fillings on back teeth are not provided by the NHS. These treatments are still available to registered NHS patients who can pay for them separately, on a private basis, while remaining an NHS patient.

• Crowns on molar teeth must be gold/silver alloy, cosmetic porcelain crowns can only be provided on a private basis.
• NHS and private treatments cannot be mixed on the same tooth eg. we are not allowed to provide an NHS root treatment on a molar (back) tooth and place a white filling or crown over it.
• Treatments plans exceeding £350 must be submitted to practitioner services for approval, prior to the commencement of treatment. Emergency treatment can be provided while awaiting approval.
